About this workshop
1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health problem in any given year. That means that every person is likely to know someone who is experiencing a mental health problem. Anyone can have a conversation that may save a life. Everyone should know how!
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA™) offers early-intervention education courses for adults in the workplace that increase mental health literacy and teach the practical skills needed to support a co-worker or another adult, experiencing a mental health problem.
Mental Health First Aid training equips people with the knowledge and confidence to approach or respond to someone who may need information or support.
Topics include:
Common mental health conditions
Risk factors & protective factors
Crisis situation support
Framework to supporting a mental health conversation
